My idea behind the motif: Even in a chaotic, unpredictable world — like the one reflected in the angel’s wind-tossed hair — there are still quiet helpers. Gentle beings walk beside us. Gentle Angels, whispering of peace, of light returning, of better days waiting just ahead. To follow those whispers takes courage. Not the loud kind — but the quiet bravery of showing up, of trying again, of moving forward even when the ice beneath us feels thin. That is what Brave Skates stand for — as I mention in the editorial note to this tutorial. Even when we don’t know the way, we can still glide toward something better. The Gentle Angel reminds us: peace is possible. Even now. Especially now. Peace on Earth—to all of us.
Since the summer of 2025, I've been writing my first Signature PDF Art Lesson — part of the Wabel story I've been quietly piecing together since 2017. As a devoted reader, I trust the written word: it's where I rest, where questions and answers meet, and where there's room for one's own creativity. So it felt natural to join my vision for art tutorials with words — to make them written lessons.
This is a project for kindred spirits, especially those who love folk art. The Gentle Angel, with his graceful movement, gathers the first of us — quiet, gently shining stars — who in the kind rhythm of ordinary days look for what they love most in paints and brushes: tenderness.
